Biography

Martin Miller and Susan Hicks were married in Ashford, Kent, on 12 May 1598.^[1]

Martin's burial is recorded in Ashford on 04 Aug 1625, and mentions that he was a weaver.^[2]

His son's biography in the Cambridge Alumni mentions Martin, and also gives his occupation as a weaver:

"Miller, John, Adm. sizar (age 18) at Caius, May 20, 1624. S. of Martin, weaver. Bapt. at Ashford, Kent, Oct. 21, 1604. School, Ashford (Mr. Burton). Matric. 1624; B.A. 1627-8. Emigrated to New England, 1638. Lived for the next nine years at Dorchester, Rowley and Roxbury, Mass. Pastor at Yarmouth, 1646-51; and at Groton, 1662-3. Died at Groton, June 14, 1663. (Venn, I. 266; J.G. Bartlett.)" ^[3]
