Disambiguation

A Jeffrey Minshall was born in Wistaston, Cheshire, England, to Richard Minshall and Elizabeth Goldsmith in 1620.^[1] A previous genealogy asserted that this was the Jeffrey Minshall who emigrated to the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Maryland. However, a later examination of church records showed that the Jeffrey born in Wistaston in 1620 died in 1624.^[2][3]

The given names Jeffrey and Randall are common in the Cheshire Minshall families, and since Minshalls from other parts of England trace back to Cheshire, it is likely that this Jeffrey Minshall is related to the Cheshire families in some way.

Jeffrey Minshall was born about 1620-1625, probably in Cheshire, England.^[3] One possibility is Geffrey baptized in 1624, son of Thomas Minshall.^[4]
