Ancil was born on 2 March 1897 in Maine. He was the son of Clark Mitchell and Evelyn Rockwell.[1]

In the 1910 census Ancil (age 13) was living in Merrill Plantation, Aroostook, Maine.[2]

When Ancil was about 23 he married Sadie R. Cowie on 30 Jan 1921 at an unknown location in Maine.[3]

Ancil died at the age of 63 on 8 November 1960 in Maine.[5]
