Biography

Emma Rhoda Belle Moberly was born on April 8, 1901 in Cherry Creek Township, Kansas to Thomas Lewis and Martha Lucina (Gudgel) Moberly. She married Robert E. Kirkland on February 4, 1925 in Saint Francis, Kansas. They were the parents of Charles Lewis (1926-1998), Eunice Marie (1929-1998), Emma Roberta (born in 1930), Mabel June (born in 1934), and Robert Earl (1935-2010). She married Verd Ransome Hafley on June 28, 1951 in Vancouver, Washington. They had no children. She died on June 23, 1996 in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 95 and was buried in Fairview Cemetery in Scappoose, Oregon.
