WILLIAM was born c1751 in Louisa or Albemarle County. He died 25 JAN 1829, age 78 years, at Planters Hall, Breckinridge County, KY. He is buried at his residence located about 8 miles south of Hardinsburg, the county seat for Breckinridge.
William was married three times and had children with his first two wives. All children were born in VA with possible exception of the last two; their birthplace depends on when the family actually left VA.
William's first wife was Jane (Jeane) HADEN (Hayden); they had six children.
He married secondly Judith (Juda) VENABLE (daughter of Hugh Lewis Venable and Mary MARTIN) 21 AUG 1789. They also had six children.
William married his third wife in KY: Mrs. Elizabeth (Harwood / Haden / Howard) Miller 5 JUL 1818.

Many Moorman researchers lists third wife variously as Mrs. Elizabeth Harwood/Haden/Howard Miller at the time of her marriage to William Moorman. HISTORICAL SOUTHERN FAMILIES is one of the references that lists her as Elizabeth Haden. I have no knowledge of any possible Elizabeth from the Haden family and I've researched them for over 20 years - I strongly believe she was NOT a Haden - just a confusion with the surname of his first wife. The possibility exists that her surname, or a previously married surname was Hayden. There is a family that uses that spelling, living in Kentucky, that was of no kin to the Hadens. County clerks often spelled both names the same way but Y-DNA and thorough research has proved they were very different families.
Breckinridge Co Court Minute Book 3 from Vol. 3 of Breckinridge Co Kentucky Records, by Cook, Cook Publications, 1984. Sept 21,1818 Justices present were James Moorman, William Moorman, Samuel Allen, and William B. Clark, Esquires. [I believe this was James, son, and William, his father] p.1 Joseph Roberts & William Moorman, were Inspectors of tobacco at the mouth of Sinking Creek and made report of tobacco shipped. Stephens warehouse, 20 Dec 1817. 206 hogsheads of tobacco were shipped which included 39 hosgheads for "E. Hayden" - possibly the widow he married in 1818? Note: If she was Hayden and not Haden - there was a very different Hayden family in Kentucky and the two families are not related in anyway as proved conclusively by Y-DNA. James Moorman & John Sterett were appointed commissioners for division of lands between residents of this State and non-residents. William Moorman Jr., William B. Clark and Samuel Allen also appointed commissioners for the same purpose
