Clyde was the son of Marion Mitchell & Weltha (Chase) Morrison

He married Mary Alberta Brown - parents of sons Marion Robert/Mitchell "Duke" (actor John Wayne) and Robert Emmet

Clyde was a well liked but unsuccessful pharmacist in Iowa, known for his generosity and good nature.

In an effort to find a better climate for his asthma and better fortune for family finances, in 1914 he moved his family to Palmdale, California to homestead 80 acres owned by his father. The land turned out to be arid and unsuitable for farming, so two years later in 1916 they relocated to Glendale outside of Hollywood.

Clyde Morrison was a pharmacist. He developed a lung condition and moved his family from Iowa to Arizona where he attempted ranching in the Mohave desert. Later, the family moved on to California where he went back to pharmaceutical work.
