Whilst there are a number of Mumford entries in Chalgrave 1540-68, mainly involving Edmund, there are none for Edward.
Should Mondeford-8 and Edward Mumford (Mumford-77) his putative half brother (although once the merger of their common father goes through they will be full brothers), be merged? I thought to start with yes, given they have the same parents, but with different wives, and birth dates, both estimates, 20 years apart I have doubts. In the Visitation of Norfolk Edward is shown as the ninth and youngest son. The only one of his numerous siblings not to have a roughly estimated birthdate is Thomas, the fourth son whose DNB entry gives him a birth of 1550 based, I assume, on him being admitted to Kings College Cambridge in 1568. A birth date for Edward of 1560 looks about right. So Edward Mumford's estimated birth date of 1540 looks wrong. And his birth place of Bedfordshire looks even wronger! Rather than being candidates for merging I now think that Edward Mumford should be detached from his parents.
