Biography

Thomas was born in 1787 and baptised on October 25[1].

He married Ann Rogers on January 28, 1811 in Marytavy, Devon[2].

He passed away in 1849[3].

DNA has shown Thomas Nankivell 1787-1849 husband of Ann Rogers was the son of John Nankivell 1744-1804, son of Samson Nankivell, son of Robert Nankivell 1650-1707 and Elizabeth Turner. Marg.

Thomas Nankivell died 1849 Tavistock. His parents could have been Richard and Elizabeth nee Roberts or John Nankivell and Elizabeth nee Chenoworth.

Information, photos and sources welcome, particularly from descendants from both families of Robert Rogers Nankivell 1811-1894 and his ancestors from Mary Tavy, Blackdown, Tavistock Devon and Columba Major, St Agnes, Cornwall involved in mining and other occupations, their immigration details and stories of their lives. Willing to exchange data, photos, sites and stories known to the family of Emma 1850-1935 4th daughter/10th child of Robert Rogers Nankivell and Elizabeth Tremills who married Widecombe-in-the-Moor 1831 and immigrated 1839 on the Bolton to Pentone Bay, Wellington, New Zealand, moved to Canterbury plains and Lyttleton as Surveyor for the New Zealand Company. Later settled in Maldon, Victoria, Australia.
