NOTE

He cannot be the child of Joseph Olmsted (1646-1726) and Elizabeth Butler (1654-1729) if he was born in 1782 as stated in this profile. Joseph & Elizabeth have a child Richard Olmsted born in 1682.

This profile is duplicted as Olmstead-334. A merge has not been set until that actual useage of the family name, with or without the "a", has been determined

Notes by Walt Steesy

Sometime after the import of this file by Osmer-2, she abandoned this profile and two others. All three had just a name and no data other than his reference number. All three are brothers, sons of Joseph & Elizabeth (Butler) Olmsted that married Hosmer women.

I have adopted all three profiles (Olmstead-332, 333, 334) and will eventually merge them into previously created profiles. One of the problems is that the spelling of the family name, with and without the "a", has caused the creation of duplicate profiles under each spelling. There continues to be discussion as to which form was used by the early Olmste(a)d families; those in Hartford, CT, which includes this family tend to use Olmsted without the "a." If and when the actual useage is determined the various profiles will be edited.

Olmsted-14 and Olmstead-334 appear to represent the same person because: identical dates, alternate spelling of name

This person does not appear to be connected to anyone.
Obvious typo for 1682. Importing trees from ancestry often brings incorrect data. Also, the siblings list is duplicated on this profile. His wife Deborah & children Thaddeus and Deborah need to be added. The correct spelling of the surname for this family is Olmsted without the "a" but I suspect that there is a duplicated profile under the spelling Olmstead.

Birth date on this profile is almost 150 years after father's birth date. Should this be 1682, and therefore the same Richard Olmstead/Olmsted as Olmsted-308 and Olmsted-15?
Olmsted-60 and Olmsted-15 appear to represent the same person because: data is the same; wife is the same

Olmsted-308 and Olmsted-60 appear to represent the same person because: Same birth/death/name
Olmsted-308 and Olmsted-15 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, birth, parents, substantively similar siblings.
