1776 Project
Private Stephen Olmsted served with Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

Stephen Olmsted is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A086319.

Stephen Olmsted was born in 1742 in East Hartford of the Connecticut Colony

He married his second cousin, Jane Olmsted and they had two children, Lucy and Stephen.

He served in the Connecticut Militia during the Revolutionary War. With others from Connecticut, he marched for relieve of Fort William Henry at the southern tip of Lake George in Washington County, New York in August 1757. While at Crown Point, he enlisted in the Army.

Stephen died 9 Sep 1776 at the army encampment in Westchester County, New York.

His remains were returned for burial in the Center Cemetery in East Hartford. [1]
