Petrus Ostrander first married Deborah Dijo at the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston on 19 February 1749.[2] Children of this first marriage were:[3]

Petrus Ostrander, a widower, married Christina Rank, "y. d." (i.e., never married) in the Reformed Dutch Church at Schraalenburgh, Bergenfield, New Jersey, on 8 November 1759.[4]

He inherited as sole heir about four thousand acres of his father's land. On 26 December 1768, a deed provided full maintenance for his mother, Elizabeth, who got to live in the home until her death, and then the property was to go to her son David who was 21 years younger than Petrus. In 1760 Petrus was a deacon in the Shawangunk Reformed Dutch Church. He served in Captain Drake's Company, Colonel Hasbrouck's Regiment as a first lieutenant in the Revolutionary War. [6]
He passed away on Christmas day, 25 December 1814, at Plattekill, Ulster, New York. Accrording to Ostrander, A Genealogical Record, Petrus and his wives were buried on the Ostrander farm in Modena, New York.[6] A FindAGrave memorial identifies his place of burial as the Ostrander-Esterly Ground at Plattekill, New York.[7] (These may be different descriptions of the same location.)
