Biography
The headstone shared by Evan Parsons and his second wife, Annie Conine indicates that he was born in 1775 and died in 1872 at the age of 96 years. [1] Evan was born near Deep River, which rises in the Piedmont country in western Guilford County, east of Kernersville, a tributary of the Cape Fear River. Evan was one of ten children of George David Parsons and Ruth Green, who married in 1769, in Guilford county.
On December 23, 1799, in Guilford county, Evan married Patience Field[2], a daughter of Joseph Field and Lydia Julian. Julian-481 Patience's father was killed October 7, 1780, at the Battle of King's Mountain, during the American Revolutionary War. Lydia's mother married again to a man who was a Quaker, and a widower with ten children. Evan and Patience became the parents of seven children, the youngest born in 1821. [3]

In 1827, in Guilford county, North Carolina, Evan married Anna "Annie" Conine, whose maiden name may have been Harris or Graham. [4]
- I have encountered this name in my search for Anna Conine Graham. I don't know if Harris was her maiden name or a married name prior to marrying Evan Parson. The name has come up on several other family trees with the same information as for Anna Conine Parson and on several message boards. I am still searching for more information on both the Harris and Graham lines. Anna is the mother of my great grandfather George Roake Parson and grandmother to my grandfather Politus Lafayette Parson. August 11, 2017 by Maxie Alyn Sanford
