Jane Pascall (d. 1642), married the poor John Hayward ... who worked his way up the ladder. It was an unhappy marriage, and some believe she committed adultery. But outside of John Hayward's public laments about her lack of respect towards him and their failed marriage, there is no proof that she took a lover.[1]
