William Perkins was born in 1740. He married Elizabeth Lee Fearn on 12 Dec 1770 in Buckingham, Virginia. They had 10 children. [2]

American Revolution

William was a Captain from Buckingham County in the Virginia Militia. In 1781 his company was in the Battle of Hot Water and Jamestown. He achieved the rank of a Colonel in the Virginia Militia and is designed so in tax records for Buckingham County[3][4]

Will

Here is a partial transcript of William's will. The will also mentions his sons George, William H. and Thomas F. Perkins. Colonel William signed this on the third day of June 1806.
Will of William Hardin Perkins, Buckingham Co., VA d. 1806 To daughter Susanna a negro woman named Winny and her after increase, and negro girl named Sally (child of Winney), and a negro boy Darton. To daughter Polly Perkins a negro woman named Jinny and her increase together with a negro boy named Pleasant and a negro boy named Davy (the son of Winny). To daughter Elizabeth Perkins one negro girl by the name of Celia, a negro boy named and a negro boy named Lewis son of Daniel). To daughter Nancy F. Perkins a negro girl by the name of Mima (Mina?), a negro girl by the name of Flora and a negro boy by the name of Isham. To daughter Mildred Perkins a negro girl named Agga and a negro boy named Absolom (Abraham?). And when she arrives to the age of 16 it is my wish that a likely young negro shall be bought for her of the value of 60 pounds. It is my wish that the negroes thus given to my daughters shall remain on my plantation and be worked with my negroes not herin bequeathed during the (unintelligible) of my daughters to whom they are given, and that if any of the negroes thus given should die before my daughters to whom they are given should come to the population (?) of them in that care others of equal value shall be furnished them.I give to my wife a young negro woman named Parbary to her own proper use during her life and to dispose of as she pleases, provided it be amongst any of my children or their survivors. Perkins-20713 and Perkins-6078 appear to represent the same person because: Perkins-20713 and Perkins-6078 appear to represent the same person because they have the same parents, the same war record and the same birth and death dates in the same places.

Perkins-6078 and Perkins-20713 need to be merged. See the William Hall source. Also, I believe his date of birth should be changed to 1740. This William Perkins had a wife named Elizabeth Lee Fearn Perkins not Feam.
