Elizabeth Perkins was born on 13 May 1759 in Halifax County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Nicholas Perkins and Bethenia Harden. On the 20 November 1778, she married William Letcher, son of Giles Letcher and Hannah Hughes in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. They had one (1) child. She was a Widow of William Letcher, who was shot by Tories on 2 August 1780. On 1 January 1781, she married General George Hairston, son of Robert Hairston and Ruth Stovall. They had twelve (12) children. She died on 26 January 1818 in Henry County, Virginia at age 58.
