- Note: The 1840 Warren township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania census shows Joseph Phincey (sic) with 1 male under 5, 2 males 5-9, 1 male 30-39, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5-9, 1 female 1014 and 1 female 30-39.
- On the 1860 Warren township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania census shows Joseph Phenicie, age 54, a farmer, with his wife Susan, age 54 and children William, 24; Mary, 20; and Susan, 18.
- By 1870, the only child still living at home is daughter, Mary Ellen, age 32.
- On the 1880 Warren Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania census shows a granddaughter, Mercy (Mary) age 22, living with Joseph.
- Joseph and Susan eventually came to own the Christian Study home place and became owners of all the Study land.
- Records of the Stone Church Cemetery give his death date as June 23, 1886. He died age 84 years, 7 months and 6 days.
