Joseph was born at Montréal on 12 April 1724, the son of Jacques Picard and Marie Anne Lefebvre, and baptised at Notre-Dame the next day[1].
In 1750 he married Angelique Amable Rose at Sault-au-Récollet[2], and they had five children together.
Joseph was present at the baptism of their last child in April 1759[3], but neither parent was present at the burial of this child nine months later[4]. No record for Joseph's death has been found, but Angelique remarried in October 1760[5]
