ALICE (Plantagenet) OF NORFOLK, younger daughter and co-heiress, of age in 1338. On 4 Feb. 1333 she was contracted to marry WILLIAM DE MONTAGU, K.G., 4th Lord Montague. This marriage contract was voided. Alice subsequently married before 29 August 1338 her former fiancé's uncle, EDWARD DE MONTAGU, Knt. They had one son, Edward, and four daughters, Audrey, Elizabeth, Maud [Abbess of Barking], and Joan. ALICE (Plantagenet) OF NORFOLK died of an assault committed at Bungay, Suffolk by her husband shortly before 30 Jan. 1351/2, for which crime he and his followers were subsequently indicted.

Children of Alice (Plantagenet) of Norfolk, by Edward de Montagu, Knt.:

EDWARD DE MONTAGU. In May 1343 his uncle, William de Montagu, Knt., 1st Earl of Salisbury, arranged for him to marry BLANCHE MOWBRAY, this marriage was subsequently voided, and the marriage did not take place. EDWARD DE MONTAGU was living in June 1349; died young before Feb. 1358/9.
AUDREY DE MOPNTAGU, living June 1349, died young before Feb. 1358/9.
ELIZABETH DE MONTAGU, born about 1344. She married WALTER DE UFFORD, 3rd son of Robert de Ufford, K.G., 1st Earl of Suffolk, etc. He was born 3 October 1333. They had no issue. She died before July 1361.
MAUD DE MONTAGU. [Abbess of Barking]. She died shortly before 5 October 1393.
JOAN DE MONTAGU, born at Bungay, Suffolk 2 Feb. 1348/9. She married (as his 1st wife) before 28 October 1362 WILLIAM DE UFFORD, K.G., 2nd Earl of Suffolk, Lord Ufford, etc., he was born 30 May 1338. They had four sons, Robert, Thomas, William, and Edward, and one daughter, Margaret. His wife, Joan, died before 27 June 1376. He married (2nd) on or before 12 June 1376 ISABEL DE BEAUCHAMP, widow of John le Strange, 5th Lord Strange of Blackmere (died 3 August 1375). SIR WILLIAM DE UFFORD, 2nd Earl of Suffolk, Lord Ufford, died suddenly 15 Feb. 1381/2, while ascending the steps to the House of Lords. Isabel, Countess of Suffolk, died 29 sept. 1416.
