Biography

Catherine Poirier was born about 1710 in Beaubassin, Acadia, Nova Scotia to Louis Poirier and Cecile Mignault.[1]

In 1714, she is listed with her parents and siblings on the census of Beaubassin: Louis POIRIER and Cecile MIGNAUT: Marie, Jean, Jeanne, Catherine, Marguerite.[2] The first two children are likely her half-siblings from her mother's earlier marriage to Pierre Gaudet.

She married Michel Joseph Caissey in about 1728.[3]

Catherine Poyrie, wife of Michel Quessy passed away and was buried in the cemetery of the Notre Dame de Beaubassin on 16 May 1740.[4][5][1]
