He lived for a time on an estate belonging to his father in a locality called Springbrook, which came, with other lands, into his possession upon the death of his father in 1727. Married March 24, 1715-16, his cousin Margaret, daughter of Isaac Pope (3. ii.) (born June 30, 1690, died May 22, 1776). Children, born in Dartmouth:
