Notes

When Landon was born, in 1798, Rhea, Meigs, and most of Roane Counties were still Indian Lands. The northern half of Roane County was part of Knox County, formed in 1792. TN became a state in 1796.

"From records of Rhea Co. by T. J. Campbell. Landon Rector, one of the early settlers of Rhea Co. erected a forge where the water mill now stands. Landon erected the forge ca 1825. Their area in Rhea Co. was Sulphur Springs (a famous resort) and after the war between the states it was Rhea Springs. It is Spring City on the map today." by Beverly Vessa

Landon Rector was appointed Constable according to Rhea County Minutes Feb 1820 session.

From Rhea County Tax Lists 1819-1829. WP = White Polls TL = Town Lots BP = Black Polls SH = Stud Horses D = Dollars C = Cents PC = Pleasure Carriages.

Max Dallas Rector stated that he "very distinctly remembers being told that Cumberland Rector was his GGGrandfather". This would make Landon Rector a son of Cumberland.

Rector-980 and Rector-560 appear to represent the same person because: same name, same birth date and location, same death location, day and month match, year differ by 10
