Biography

Thomas inherited part of his family's farm, known as Old Monarch. His family endured many hardships after his death. His daughter Lydia, tried to keep the family together after the Civil War, but was unsuccessful. Thomas' brother, Ezekiel Rice, assisted in raising the younger children.
