He married Elizabeth Ingram daughter of Sir Arthur Ingram at St Mary Abbots, Kensington 8 April 1641.[1]

After the death of his father in 1649 he inherited the title of 2nd Earl of Holland.
His second wife was Anne Montagu, daughter of Edward Montagu 2nd Earl of Manchester and his wife, Lady Anne Rich

Robert died in 1675 and was buried at St James, Clerkenwell on the 17th of July. [2]
