c1783: Bathsheba Rich married James Savage, most likely in Williamstown, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts. Williamstown town records for this period were lost in a fire in 1868.

29 Apr 1813: James Savage and his wife Bathsheba Savage appeared before Judge Silas Booker in Cayuga County to acknowledge that the deed was freely executed by them. Bathsheba, examined apart from her husband, stated that she signed without fear or compulsion from him. The deed was allowed to be recorded.

1815 Dec 29: Last Will and Testament of James Savage: In the name of God amen ... And first to my beloved wife Bethsheba, I hereto doth make her as my only Executrix and assigne to her for her maintenance and support that whilst she remains my widow I bequeath to her all my lawful possessions and estates for her support and the support of her three youngest children Silas, Susanna, and Elizabeth Savage. And if my said wife Bethsheba should marry any other man she is intitled to her one-third after my lawful debts and expenses is paid as above mentioned (viz). ...

1818 Oct 12: Berkshire County, Northern District, Land Records, Volume 30, page 485: "Bathsheba Savage to Reubin Young - This indenture made the twelfth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & Eighteen. Between Bathsheba Savage in the town of Locke in the county of Cayuga and State of New York of the first part and Reubin Young of the Town of WmsTown in the county of Berkshire in the Com'welth of Mass. of the second part. Witnesseth That the party of the first part for In consideration of the sum of thrity dollars money of account of the United States to her in hand paid by the party of the second part. The receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged hath granted bargined sold ... all that certain piece of parcel of land being an undivided share of twenty six acres of land lying in the Town of WmsTown afars Bounded on the North by land owned by Benjamin Briggs on the west by land of Lyman Hubbell on the south by lands of Griffin Elderidge on the east by lands of Gushom Bulkley which lands descended to this Bathsheba from her Father and continues all her rights and title to the above described piece of land which remains undivided by the heirs of Moses Rich dec'd supposed to be about two acres be the same more or less. Together with all and singular the ... 1822 May 4: Will Proved & Administrator Appointed Estate of James Savage: "The People of the State of New York, by the grace of God Free and Independent: To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern, send greetings. ... on the fourth of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hunderd twenty two [4 May 1822] before Benjamin Cuylor Esquire surrogate of our said County, the last will and testament of James Savage late of the town of Locke ... was duly proved ... Therefore the administration of all and singular, the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased, and any way concerning his will is granted unto John Savage administrator of all & singular the goods, chattles, and credits of the said deceased with the will of the said James Savage annexed. Said executrix in said will named being deceased. ..."
