Biography

When Margaret Stewart Richey was born on August 15, 1785, in Donalds, South Carolina, her father, Robert, was 30, and her mother, Mary, was 23. She married Andrew (Col) Seawright in 1800 in Abbeville, South Carolina. They had 12 children in 21 years. She died on January 2, 1857, in her hometown at the age of 71, and was buried there.

Second Marriage to James Washington Richey: Margaret Stewart Richey Seawright, a widow, married second her cousin James Washington Richey on Feb. 1834. She was the daughter of Robert Richey, who was the brother to James Washington's father. They were married 23 years when she died in 1857. They did not have children.
