COMFORT ROBBINS Coleman 1699-1766

Comfort Robbins was born on the 8th of December 1699 in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Joshua Robbins 1652–1738 and his wife, Elizabeth ROSE Butler 1665-1736.^[1][2] Comfort was one of 8 children.

On the 29th of August 1727, Miss Comfort ROBBINS married John Coleman 1698-1758 in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut. This information may be found in the Will of her Father, Joshua Robbins.

Sadly, Comfort and John Coleman's baby daughter, Mary Coleman died on the 1st of September 1741 at only eighteen months old. They buried her at the Village Cemetery in Section 1 located in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut.

Comfort's husband, John Coleman died at the young age of 57 years on the 7th of June 1758 in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut. He is interred in the Wethersfield Cemetery (Old Center Cemetery in West Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut Row 13 Plot 126-1) along with his baby daughter, Mary who died at 18 months of age.

Comfort ROBBINS Coleman was buried next to her husband, John, on the 22nd of October 1786 aged 86 in the Old Center Cemetery located in West Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut.

WILL of Father, Joshua Robbins: Hartford, Connecticut Probate Records, 1729-1750 Name Joshua Robbins Location Wethersfield Date of Will 26 Mar 1730 Full text Page 123 The will of Joshua Robbins, Sen., dated 26 March, 1730: I have already given unto my eldest son, Joshua Robbins, my lot at Stepney, where he dwells, together with all the buildings that I erected thereon; also my lot that I bought of Phillip Goff and Naomy his wife, my lot in Beaver Meadow and my lots that I had of Theophilus Sherman, Joseph Barnard and John Adgit. I do further give to my son Joshua Robbins my division lot att Newington, about 75 acres; also my five-acre lot in Mile Meadow; also that part of my lot in the Wet Swamp that I bought of Joseph Wolcott; also my right in a tract of land lying on the back side of Rockey Hill, in Wethersfield. I do hereby give unto my said son Jonathan Robbins, only reserveing ye improvement thereof dureing the natural life of his mother, ye other half of my homestead where I now dwell, together with ye other half of my barns, with all other buildings and things that are erected thereon, also the other half of the lots above mentioned.
