Biography

" James Robinson of Blue Point was the "cooper" tried for the murder of Collins and acquitted in 1666. He lived near his father-in-law Richard Foxwell, whose second daughter, Lucretia, was his wife. He continued here until the war of 1675 broke out, when he removed to New Castle, N. H., where he and his wife died. They left four daughters in New Castle, three of whom were married. James Robinson " COLLECTIONS OF THE MAINE HISTORICAL SOCIETY. 1853 Volume III page 80

Origin

James was born probably c. 1612 at Leiden, Holland, and was burried on 26 May 1638 St. Peter's in Leiden, Holland. He was a son of John Robinson and Bridget White.[1]

Uncertain Marriage

This profile currently connects him in marriage to Lucretia Foxwell, but this is clearly impossible. James was buried on 26 May 1638 at St. Peter's in Leiden, Holland.[1] Lucretia Foxwell married to a different James Robinson by 1668.

Death and Legacy

James Robinson was buried on 26 May 1638 at St. Peter's in Leiden, Holland.[1]

Research Notes

Per Torrey:

James Robinson (-1710?) & Lucretia [FOXWELL] (1644-) 16 Jan 1667/70?; Blue Point/Scarborough, ME/Newcastle NH {GDMNH 244: 591; Robinson (#2) 56, Robinson (#3) 80; Reg 39:344; Kittery 702}[2]

James Robinson married by 1668 to Lucretia Foxwell (b c. 1644 "aged 24 at marriage," Blue Point/Scarborough, ME) daughter of Richard Foxwell and Susanna Bonython.[3] Her father had emigrated by about 1632, probably from England.

Seems we have two different James Robinsons. One was born and died at Leiden, Holland. The other lived in Maine and married to Lucretia Foxwell.

Need to decide which this profile will represent, and create (or find) the other one. Please let me know, if I can help. Thanks!

John, the father died in 1625, so something's wrong here if James was born in 1642.

Robinson-11131 and Robinson-6623 are not ready to be merged because: Robinson-6623 must to be changed to open privacy level .

Some how the children in this profile are already attached to Robinson-11131. Do they need to be removed prior to any merge? How to fix this is beyond my skill level. Adrian Stanley
