Biography

William Henry Robinson was born 23 Mar 1781 in Wilmot, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia.

He married circa 1807, Rachel Palmer. She was born 1 Jun 1781 in New York, the daughter of United Empire Loyalists, Benjamin and Philena (Hunt) Palmer. In 1861, she was likely the widowed female, age 50-60, residing in Aylesford South with her son Benjamin and his family. .In 1871, Rachal [sic], age 90, was residing in Aylesford South with her son Benjamin and his family. .She died 8 Apr 1873 in Aylesford aged 95.

In 1811, William Henry et al signed a mortgage for land in Aylesford to his father, Robert Robinson. In 1816, the administrators of the estate of Robert Robinson, granted a Release of Mortgage to William Henry Robinson of Aylesford. In 1821, William H. per Master in Chancery granted a deed to John Soloman of Aylesford. In 1821, William Henry of Aylesford signed an agreement with Wells Condon. In 1823, William H. and his wife granted a deed to Elijah Palmer, his son-in-law. In 1842, William H. et al granted a deed to land in Aylesford Township to William H., Jr.

In 1838, Henry Robertson [sic] was a farmer living in Aylesford Township with 1 female under 14 [Margaret], 2 males above 14 [William, Benjamin] and 4 females over 14 [Rachel, his wife, Salome, Rachel, Amelia Ann], plus himself, total 8 in family.

He died before 5 Jun 1857, likely in either Aylesford Township or Cornwallis Township.

His estate in Cornwallis Township was administered 5 Jun 1857. Administration papers in the Kings County probate court list his heirs: his wife, Mrs Rachel, sons William, John, Robert, and Benjamin and daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and John Palmer, Salome and Henry Ogilvie, Charlotte and James Ogilvie, Rachel and Isaac Morris, and Amelia Ann and George W Gould.
