DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

There are many John or Jonathan Rockwells, as there are generations of them from different lines - probably cousins. But there are specific DAR numbers attached to John Rockwell 1734 - 1825; but also other sites list John Rockwell (the son of the previous John Rockwell, who himself was a II) - with the dates of 1755 - 1825, as serving. I'm sure both of them could have served. But both of the profiles show them dying in the same town in the same year. Are the dates correct? And did both Johns serve? If so, which was the Private with Captain Humphrey?

Rockwell-2028 and Rockwell-80 appear to represent the same person because: Exact dates, same spouse and child. Parents to be merged as well
