John Rogers was a witchcraft accuser in the Salem Witch Trials

Biography

Christening: 18 Oct 1612

Evidence that he was the son of Thomas, shoemaker, of Moulsham, Chelmsford, Essex, England: (1) He was probably the only John Rogers in Watertown of the right age (b. abt. 1612), in 1645, to have made power of attorney identifying his fatherThomas; (2) Rev. Ezekiel Rogers of Rowley, 1st cousin of Thomas, names "wife of cousin Rogers of Billerica" in his will; (3) John's children b. in Watertown, Wenham (?) and Billerica bear the names of his Chelmsford, England family. [1]

On 22 Nov 1640, he married 1st Priscilla Dawes at Boston, Massachusetts Bay.(10 children)[2]

In December of 1645 Abraham Page of Watertown, John Rogers of Watertown and John Compton of Boston each gave a power of attorney to Robert Scott of Boston, merchant, to collect debts or legacies in England, in one case without power to substitute another attorney [ Aspinwall 14, 15], which suggests that Scott was about to make a voyage to England. He had returned by 18 August 1646, when a receipt was recorded of cloth received from Joshua Wollnow of London [ Aspinwall 29]. [1]

On 6 May 1669, he married 2nd Unknown at Billerica, Massachusetts Bay. (3 children

He died on 25 Jan 1686 in Billerica, Massachusetts Bay.[3]
