Alexander was the son of John Ross, 5th Laird of Balnagown and Christian Macleod born at of Balnagown, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland. [1][2][3]
He married Dorothea Sutherland, daughter of Alexander Sutherland and Muriel Chisholm;[1] [2][3] They had issue.
Alexander died on 11 June 1487 at Battle of Ailt Charrais ((also known as the Battle of Auldicharish, Aldicharrish, Aldecharwis, Alt a'Charrais, Alt Charrais, Alt na Charrais), Sutherland, Scotland.[1] [4]
