Biography

Jonathan was born in ca 1703/4 probably in East Haddam, Connecticut, son of Moses Rowley and Mary Unknown.[1] He married Anne Fuller in 1727 and Sedgwick's History shows that Jonathan settled in Sharon in 1741. They had 7 children before she died at Sharon Connecticut on 6 Sep 1741. [2] [3]

  6. Judah Rowley b. 1 Au g 1738[1]
  7. Huldah (Rowley) Mudge b. 30 Aug 1740.[1][5]

He married 2nd Abigail Green at Colchester 4 Feb 1742[1] and had three children, probably Colchester, CT:

  1. Hepsebah Rowley bp Colchester 8 Aug 1742; d. probably before 21 Dec 1769.[1]
  2. Issacher Rowley b 8 Feb 1744 bp Colchester 19 Feb1744.[1]
  3. Abigail Rowley bp Kent 4 Oct 1747[1]

Then for the third time he married Dorothy Unknown after 1747[1]. He died 23 Mar 1772.[1]

Jonathan's will dated Kent 21 Dec 1769, inventory 13 Apr 1772, mentions wife Dorothy; sons Simeon, Jonathan, Levi, Judah and Issacher; daughters Desire, Anne, Huldah and Abigail; son Issacher executor.
