Biography

Hopkins was born in 1758 Litchfield, Connecticut, the first child of Jonathan Rowley and Elizabeth Hopkins.

He married first Elizabeth Stewart and they had the following known children, all born in Vermont:

He married second Abigail Mott 22 Jan 1826 in Enosburgh, Franklin, Vermont and they had no known children.^[1]

During the Revolutionary War, he joined the Green Mountain Boys under Ethan Allen to participate in the battle for Fort Ticonderoga 10 May 1775 when they took the fort away from the British.

Hopkins appeared in the U.S Census in 1790^[2] at Pittsford, Rutland, Vermont and on the 1800,^[3] 1810,^[4] 1820,^[5] and 1830^[6] U.S. Censuses at Shoreham, Addison, Vermont.

He died 1831 and was buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Shoreham, Addison, Vermont.
