Catherine was the daughter of John Savage, gentlrman, of the city of Chester (Not Sir John), and married William Cokayne. [1]. The Visitation of Bedfordshire 1566 has mangled the details for William and his brother Humphrey, reversing their wives and children.[2]
The report of a litigation held at The National Archives, Kew show that after William's death in 1527 Catherine married Robert Lockton - Reference: C 1/852/34-35 Short title: Markham v Lockton. Plaintiffs: William Markham, esquire, and Frances, his wife, daughter and heir of Humphrey Cokeyn. Defendants: Robert Lockton and Katherine, his wife, late the wife of [William Cokeyn, brother and heir of the said Humphrey]. Subject: Detention of deeds relating to lands in Hatley Cockayne (Buryhatley), Potton, Wrestlingworth and Pyncote (near Tadlow). Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire Note: Answer mutilated. Date: 1533-1538[3]
She was formerly the da. of Sir John Savage and Dorothy Vernon, and I found no evidence while researching their ancestry that they had a da. Catherine or a da. who married a "Cockayne".
