Biography

Kate Ruth was the mother of legendary Major League Baseball Player, Babe Ruth.

Kate Ruth was enumerated as wife of the head of household at 341 South Woodyear Street, Precinct 11 Baltimore city Ward 20, Baltimore County, Maryland for the June 8, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born July 1874 in Maryland and had been married for six years. She was the mother of three children of which one was still living. Also included in the household are head George H Ruth and son George H Ruth Jr. as seen in an image of the original census.[1]

Catherine Ruth was enumerated as wife of the head of household at 400 Conway Street, Baltimore Ward 22, Baltimore (Independent City), Maryland for the May 2, United States Census, 1910. She was noted as born 1874 in Maryland and had been married for seventeen years. She was the mother of seven children of which two were still living as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head George H Ruth, son Gaorge H Ruth Jr., daughter Mary Ruth and brother William E Ruth.[2]
