Margaret was the ninth child of Ebenezer Shaw, Sr. Her father was a Carpenter, Millwright and Cooper, first in Hampton, New Hampshire and later in Standish, Cumberland County, Maine.
Historian Albert Sears of the History of Standish shays she was the daughter of Ebenezer and Sarah (Weed) Shaw. The History of Bethel says she was the daughter of Anna Philbrick, Ebenezer's other wife.
At the age of 22, her Marriage Bann to Daniel Bean was published on December 30, 1780, in Gorham, Cumberland County, Maine. They were married the following Spring, on April 26, 1781 in Standish, Maine.
She and her husband moved to Bethel, in Oxford County, Maine, where they had 13 children, the 1st was born at Standish and the rest on the farm, West of Bethel, Maine.
The home was a large square type house with a huge central fireplace in the middle of the house. It was still standing in 1966, and was owned by Mrs Edith Eypper, who moved there from Texas and restored the home to its original condition.
According to two sources, Daniel and Margaret are buried in the West Bethel Cemetery. According to Find A Grave, Daniel and Margaret are buried in the Mount Will Cemetery, in North Bethel, Oxford County, Maine. [1]
