William Advardus, who was commonly known as Advardus, likely because he had a younger brother also called William, was born in 1811. He is the son of Henry Shaw and Abigail Kinney.
"Died, at his residence Knowlesville (Carleton Co.) 18th Sept., Advardis Shaw, age 75 years 7 mos. 8 days, left aged widow, seven sons, 16 grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters. He professed religion when young. His funeral sermon was preached by Rev. John Perry." (Carleton Sentinel, Woodstock, N.B., 16 October 1886).[1]
