Biography

Elizabeth Simms was born about 1717 in Charles, Maryland, daughter of Marmaduke Semmes (deceased 1717) and Elizabeth Clarkson [1] She was likely the unborn child named in the Will of Marmaduke Semms (Sims), Charles Co. Maryland written on 11 May 1717 with probate on 29 July 1717. He named wife Elizabeth, possibly (Clarkson) Semms as executrix and a Wm Clarkson as one of 2 Trustees[2]

She died 24 NOV 1795 in Fairfax, Fairfax, Virginia, USA[3] (Alternate death date: 1790, Fairfax, Fairfax, Virginia, USA[4]

Research Notes

Some records for Elizabeth have her birth date in 1711, however this appears to be a misreading of the date her father's will was signed.

Simms-800 and Simms-239 appear to represent the same person because: Same mother. No sources to clarify differences in birth and death dates. Simms-239 gives 1790 as an alternative death date in the bio. Thanks for reviewing.
