Agnes was the daughter of Henry Sinclair and Margaret Hepburn. She married her cousin Patrick Hepburn, third Earl of Bothwell, in 1533 or 1534. They were divorced before 16 October 1543. [1] Her will as Dame Agnes Sinclair, Countess of Bothwell, dated 21 March 1572, was probated at Edinburgh 22 February 1574/5.[2] Agnes left all her goods to William Hepburn, natural (illegitimate) son of James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell.[citation needed]
