William de Skipwith was the son and heir of John de Skipwith and his wife Margaret de Flinton. [1]
William de Skipwith, who married Margaret, daughter of Ralph Fitz-Simon, lord of Ormsby in Lincolnshire, and sister and sole heir of Simon Fitz-Ralph, whereby this family became possessed of that inheritance, which was possessed by Sir Ralph Fitz-Simon, Knt. temp Henry III, who was in several charters nambed Nobilis and had obtained that manor by his wife, the daughter and heir__ Ormesby of Ormsby and had three sons.[2]
In 1349, William de Skipwith presented to the churches of Langton next Horncastle, and Benyngowrth, so his father John probably died that year, or was derepit. [3]
