Smith-18363 and Smith-22441 appear to represent the same person because: Clearly the same person. On the difference on the birth I would suggest using the date from the 1883 book. It isn't necessarily definitive, but likely more reliable than a user-submitted ancestry tree. If the ancestry tree cites a more solid source, that source should be added to the merged record. I will also propose a merge of the two records for the father. The mother is the same on both.
