Robert Smythe was the son of Robert Smythe, esq. (of Bounds, in Bidborough, and of Sutton at Hone) and Lady Dorothy Sidney.[1][2][3][4]
He was baptised on 04 Jan 1653/1654 at St James Clerkenwell, Middlesex.[5]
"Robert Smyth sonne of Robert Smyth, Esqr, and Dorothy, Countess of Sunderland, his wife, was borne the 24th of December 1653 and christned the 4th of Jany 53. Memorandum That this above written of the Birth and Baptizing of Mr Robert Smyth was inserted in the Register Book on the 10th Decbr 1674".
He married Catherine, daughter of William Stafford, of Blatherwick, Northamptonshire.[2][3][4]
He was a beneficiary of the will of his uncle Charles Smythe of Sutton at Hone, Kent, Gent, the will dated 18 Oct 1682 and proved 06 Mar 1682/1683.[9]
He died in 1695 possessed of the manor of Sutton at Hone and Brook-Place.[2][3]
"Robert Smith Esq" was buried on 07 May 1695 at Sutton at Hone, Kent.[10]
