Biography

"Samuel, only son of the above, was born in 1668. He was first of Hartford, then of Colchester, Conn., afterward of Bolton, Conn. He married Hepzibah Church, at Hatfield, Sept. 16, 1696. She was a daughter of Deacon Edward Church of Hatfield, Mass., son of Richard Church, one of the first settlers of Hartford. Mrs. Hepzibah Spencer died at Bolton, Sept. 13, 1745, in the 66th year of her age.—(Gravestone, Bolton burying-ground). Mr. Samuel Spencer died at Bolton, March 26, 1748, in the 80th year of his age.—(Gravestone, Bolton burying-ground)." - Hollister Family of America
