Biography

Mary May Lavina Starkey, the daughter of John Starkey and Mary Dyerwas born on February 14, 1876[1] in Anoka, Anoka, Minnesota.[2] She was the first of her Mother and 2nd husband's children, and had 3 step siblings and 3 younger sibling. She grew up in Anoka, Anoka, Minnesota. On June 4, 1880 Mary (age about 3) was living in Anoka, Anoka, Minnesota.[3] Mary (age about 7) was living in Bethel, Anoka, Minnesota.[4] On 8 June 1895 Mary (age about 18) was living in Anoka, Anoka, Minnesota.[5]

At age 21, she married Francis J Hoolihan (1865-) on January 25, 1898 in Anoka, Minnesota.[6] The couple had 3 children.

  1. Gordon F Hoolihan (1899-)
  2. John Hoolihan (1901-)
  3. Pearl Hoolihan (1903-)

They lived in Anoka, Minnesota, where Francis was a Farmer, with Mary taking care of the home and their first child Gordan-1 in 1900.[7]

She married George Riley Reed (1877-1944) ca 1920. as she and George were living in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota at that time with her 3 children and his Mother, Alice Reed-63.[8] George was a Clerk for the Rail Road co. and she was a Homemaker.

They had moved on to St Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota by 1930. George was a Freight Clerk for the Steam R.R. Office at that time. Her son Gordon-31, who lived with them was also employed as a Bill Clerk for the Steam R.R. Office.[9]

Her husband George passed away at age 66, on January 22, 1944 in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota.[10]

She died at the age of 90-91, in 1967 and was buried in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota.[1]
