Ephraim Barnum, son of Ephraim Barnum Sr. and Mehitable Barnum, m. first Keziah Covill, who died 4 August 1775 age 44 years, being the mother of 10 children. He married second, on Feb 1, 1776, Mrs. Rachel (Starr) Beebe, the daughter of Jonathan and Rachel (Taylor) Starr, and the widow of Jonathan Beebe of Danbury. She died 4 April, 1798 at the age of 58. He married third Anna (Darrow) Stow, widow of Robert Shaw, of Redding who died 28 August 1822. Capt. Ephraim Barnum, the grandfather of the Hon. Phineas T. Barnum, died as indicated on the engraving on the grave stone April 17, 1817. His estate was appraised at £900-11.

    4. ) Brother John Beebe was at my house in Oct 1831. He was living in Parris Oneida County, NY and died there on 5 March 1861 at the age of 91 years. John had two sons and five daughters, none now living.
    5. ) Sister Sally Beebe married Seth Abbott, had some children and died many years ago, I believe in Vermont.
    6. ) Rachel, the youngest of your own sisters married Hall Platt, formerly of Bethel, but removed to Lanesboro, Mass., I was at their house in 1801. They later moved to Scroon Lake, New York.
    7. ) My father, Ephraim Barnum, born 8 Aug 1773 (1733) died 17 April 1817 aged 83 yrs 7 mos. and 19 days.

    9. ) My half sister, Lucy Barnum married Dr. Bennett and had a son, now a merchant in Norwalk.

    11. ) My half sister Ruth married Able Lacy and had a daughter and son. Ruth died Nov. 1861 at the age of 83. Her daughter Irena is still living, but unmarried and is now aged about 75.
