The profile for Vine Starr (Starr-311) b. 1716 d. 1799 includes a source for Revolutionary War Military Service as Sgt. in 1778. He was age 62 in 1778, so it seems unlikely that this military service record applies to him. His son Vine Starr (b. 1757 d. 1831) has a few military service records from the Revolutionary War and is referred as Capt. Vine Starr (administrator) in some of the probate records from the estate of his father Vine Starr (d. 1799). Long way of saying that Vine Starr (b. 1716 d. 1799) was NOT a Sergeant in the Revolutionary War.
