Alexander was named, along with his mother, as executor of his father's will. The will was written on 6/7/1794 (Matthew Wilson, David Robinson, & Samuel Armstrong as witnesses) and was probated on 5/18/1820.
The will provided for four shillings six pence to his son John and to his daughters Mary & Elizabeth. He gave his son Alexander 150 acres of the plantation on which he lived. The acreage was to be laid off by one line, joining William Shaw's, Andrew Miller's, and Matthew Wilson's land. The remaining 10 acres were to belong to his wife, Jennet, and at her death it was to go to his son William. He gave his grandson, John Wier, Jr., a year's schooling and maintenance until he was 16 years old, when he was to be bound to a trade.
