Andrew Stewart, 2nd Lord Ochiltree was the son of Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Ochiltree and Margaret Hamilton. He was born about 1521.[1]

He succeeded his father as 2nd Lord Stewart of Ochiltree in 1549.[2]

Andrew Stewart died after 3 June 1596.[3]

He married firstly, Agnes Cuninghame, daughter of Sir John Cuninghame, 4th of Caprington, before 27 October 1549[1] and second the Lady Margaret Cuninghame, daughter of Alexander Cuninghame, 5th Earl of Glencairn and Lady Janet Hamilton, between August 1570 and February 1572/73.[4] They had nine children:[1]

  2. James Stewart, 1st and last Earl of Arran d. 5 Dec 1595
  3. Sir William Stewart, d. 1588
  4. Henry Stewart
  5. Robert Stewart of Pittheustes
  6. Isabel Stewart
  7. Bethia Stewart
  8. Margaret Stewart, b. c 1548, d. a 1612
  9. Ann Stewart

After her death, he married secondly, Margaret, daughter of Alexander Cunningham, Earl of Glencairn.[5]

He also had two natural children:

  1. Elizabeth Stewart, legitimated 31 March 1585[1]
  2. John Stewart (with Janet Forbes)[6]

I believe the Andrew Stewart-28346 is the same person as this Andrew Stewart-1647.

Maybe someone could merge them. Stewart-1647 is my 12th GGF. See my page Bob (Cole-22868) retired, in IL

Stewart-15613 and Stewart-1647 appear to represent the same person because: I was sourcing -15613 and realized -1647 was a duplicate. Pre-merged everything into -1647, should be an easy merge. Thanks!
