Sources indicate that Alice Stillwell was born in Gravesend, New York between 1642 and 1645, and was the daughter of Nicholas Stillwell and Anne (Annetje Van Dyke). She married Samuel Holmes in December 1665 in Gravesend. He was born in Salem, Massachusetts. Their daughter, Anne Holmes, was born 20 December 1670 and died before 9 January 1702. She married in 1691 to Jacobus Johannes Kierstede of New York.
Stillwell-1272 and Stillwell-216 appear to represent the same person because: These two have the same parents and a similar dob. Research of Dr John E Stillwell, Ray Stillwell, and Forrest Ladd all give a daughter Alice, but not Elise, for Nicholas1 and Anne Stillwell. Elise is a variant of the name Alice. Please merge.
Ann married Nicholas 1641. If birth date is right, parents are wrong. I don't remember seeing Elise in Hay genealogy. Insufficient evidence is cited in source.
Stillwell-480 and Stillwell-216 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. Only disagreement is on date of death. A quick look at the (limited) literature & sources on this shows no consensus. Suggest leaving death date unknown until better evidence appears. Otherwise, no reason to postpone merge any further.
