Biography

Catharine, daughter of Nicholas Stillwell and Catherine Huyberts, was baptized on 14 Jul 1678 along with her sisters Ann and Rebecca at the Dutch Reformed Church, Flatbush, New Amsterdam.[1]

She married Barent (Christoffelzen) Christopher abt. 1701 in New York; born 1680; died aft. 1732. The husbands match, and the first and middle names are almost the same, so most likely this is the same person as Catharine Stillwell Christopher. The approximate death date is close but not exact.

Research Notes

The Hay Genealogy on Stillwell contains a reference to "Ann Catharine Stillwell" (Stilwell-203), who was the older sister of Thomas Stillwell (Stillwell-411): Baptism: July 14, 1678, in the Dutch Church, Flatbush, Long Island, Kings Co., New York, Burial: Aft. 1732, Richmond Co., NY. This Catharine was the daughter of Nicholas Stillwell (Stillwell-52) and Catherine (aka Elizabeth) Huybert.

Stilwell-203 and Stillwell-112 appear to represent the same person because: Parents names are Stillwell, not Stilwell. Same dates, same husband (recently merged and under PPP)
